WordPress developer for websites that bring in work

I'm a WordPress developer in Wollongong who builds fast, clean websites and landing pages for Illawarra businesses. Sites on proper hosting with staging, Cloudflare and DNS set up right, that rank for the searches your customers actually type and send every enquiry straight into HubSpot. Pretty is the minimum. Enquiries are the point.

The problem

Your website looks fine. It just doesn't do anything.

Most small business websites are brochures. Built once, launched with a post on Facebook, then left alone while the plugins pile up and the page speed drops.

The site might look decent on a big screen. But on a phone it's slow, the contact form goes to an inbox nobody checks, and it doesn't show up when someone in Wollongong searches for exactly what you do. Meanwhile you're paying for ads that send people to a page with no clear next step.

  • Slow pages, especially on mobile, where most of your visitors are.
  • Forty plugins, half of them out of date, one of them definitely a security hole.
  • No pages for the services and suburbs people actually search for.
  • Contact forms that email someone instead of creating a lead in the CRM.
  • No idea which pages bring in enquiries, because tracking was never set up.
  • Domain and DNS logins held by a developer who moved on years ago.
  • Changes made straight on the live site, because there's no staging copy.
What I build

Websites built for search, speed and enquiries

Every build starts with who needs to find you and what you want them to do next. The design, hosting and tech follow from that.

WordPress websites

Lean, fast WordPress sites with a clean editor your team can actually use. Minimal plugins and content structured so it can grow. Multi-brand businesses get one consistent approach across every brand site.

From $9,500

Landing pages

Single-purpose pages for campaigns, ads and offers. One message, one action, built to convert paid traffic instead of wasting it.

From $2,500

Custom web apps

Client portals, quoting tools, calculators and product configurators when an off-the-shelf tool doesn't fit. See custom apps.

From $20,000

HubSpot CMS, when it fits

If your marketing already runs in HubSpot, a HubSpot CMS site can make sense: forms, content and reporting in one place. I'll tell you straight whether WordPress or HubSpot CMS suits your team and budget.

Hosting, DNS and Cloudflare

WP Engine staging and production, so changes are tested before they go live. Cloudflare for DNS, caching, redirects and security. cPanel hosts handled too. Domains and DNS records documented, in your name.

Migrations and rescues

New host, new domain or a rebuild, without losing email, rankings or forms. DNS cutovers planned, redirects mapped and the new site crawled with Screaming Frog after launch. Slow or hacked sites cleaned up.

Local SEO and speed

Service and suburb pages, schema, XML sitemaps and robots.txt. PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals checks, image compression and caching. More on technical SEO.

Forms and conversion tracking

Gravity Forms, Typeform or HubSpot forms feeding HubSpot with source, page and campaign. GA4 and Tag Manager conversion events for forms, phone clicks and key actions, so you know which pages bring in work.

Product sites and search

Algolia site search for big product or content libraries. Product data synced from your other systems through the WordPress REST API or WP All Export, instead of retyped page by page.

How it works

From brief to launch

Plan

Who it's for, what they search, what you want them to do. I map the pages to real search terms and your services before any design starts.

Design

Page layouts and key screens for sign-off. You see how it works on a phone first, because that's where most visitors will see it.

Build

Built on a staging copy, content loaded, forms connected to HubSpot, tracking tested in Tag Manager, redirects mapped from the old site.

Launch and train

DNS cut over, Cloudflare set, a Screaming Frog crawl for broken links, forms tested live, and your team trained to edit without breaking anything.

Typical examples

What a better website changes

Typical scenarios, not client case studies. The numbers are illustrative.

The ad spend leak

A business spends $3,000 a month on Google Ads sending people to its home page. The home page tries to say everything. A dedicated landing page for each service, with one clear call to action, a fast load and conversion tracking that reports leads, gives that same spend a far better chance of turning into enquiries.

Invisible in the next suburb

A Wollongong trades business has one "Services" page. People searching in Shellharbour or Kiama never find it. Separate pages for each core service, with genuine local detail, give Google something to rank for each search.

The lost form fill

Website enquiries go to an info@ inbox. Some sit for days. Wiring the Gravity Forms into HubSpot creates a contact and a task for the right person instantly, with an automatic reply to the customer.

The domain nobody can log into

A business wants to move hosts. Nobody has the domain login, DNS sits with a previous developer and email runs off the same records. Recovering the domain, mapping every DNS record and putting Cloudflare in front first means the move happens without email going down.

Why me

A developer who thinks like a marketer

Most web developers stop at the launch. Most marketers can't touch the code. I do both, so the site is built around how customers find you and what happens after they fill in the form, rather than how it looks in a design review.

I've run WordPress sites on WP Engine and cPanel hosting, managed Cloudflare and DNS across several brand sites in a manufacturing group, and wired them into HubSpot and product data. You get a site you own outright, on hosting in your name, with a clean editor and documentation. No lock-in, no monthly fee to me unless you want ongoing help.

I'm a WordPress developer based in Wollongong, building sites for businesses across Wollongong · Shellharbour · Kiama · Nowra and the Shoalhaven · Southern Highlands.

Good fit

  • Service businesses that rely on enquiries and quotes
  • Businesses running ads to a website that doesn't convert
  • Teams using HubSpot who want the site and CRM connected
  • Product and multi-brand businesses with a lot of content to manage

Not a fit

  • You need a $1,500 template site this week
  • Large ecommerce stores with checkout, stock and thousands of SKUs
  • You want a site that wins design awards but doesn't need enquiries
FAQ

Web development FAQs

How much does a website cost in Wollongong?

My WordPress websites start from $9,500, landing pages from $2,500 and custom web apps from $20,000. The final price depends on the number of pages, content, integrations and features. You get a fixed quote before any work starts.

WordPress or HubSpot CMS?

WordPress is flexible, well supported, easy for your team to edit and not tied to any one developer. HubSpot CMS makes sense when your marketing team already lives in HubSpot and wants pages, forms and reporting in one place. I work in both and I'll recommend the one that suits your team and budget. If you need something neither does well, like a client portal, I'll recommend a custom web app instead.

Will my new website rank on Google?

Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings. What I can do is build the site the way search engines want: clear service and location pages, fast load times, proper titles and schema, and clean structure, checked with Screaming Frog and Core Web Vitals before launch. That gives you the best possible base. Ongoing content and links do the rest.

Can you move our site and domain without breaking email?

Yes, that's the part I plan most carefully. I document every DNS record before anything moves, including the ones your email depends on, then cut over with redirects mapped and a crawl afterwards to catch anything missed. Domain and DNS ownership ends up in your name.

Can the website connect to HubSpot?

Yes, and I'd recommend it. Every form, whether it's Gravity Forms, Typeform or a HubSpot form, can create or update a HubSpot contact and deal with the page and campaign source, assign it to the right person and trigger a follow-up. That's standard on my builds, not an add-on. For deeper syncs, see HubSpot integrations.

How long does a website take?

A landing page is usually 1 to 2 weeks. A WordPress site typically takes 6 to 10 weeks, most of which depends on content and feedback turnaround. Custom web apps are scoped individually.

What about hosting and maintenance?

The site is hosted in your name on hosting you pay for directly. For most business WordPress sites I set up managed hosting with staging, like WP Engine, with Cloudflare in front for DNS, caching and security. Updates and improvements can be done ad hoc at $350 an hour or bundled into a monthly retainer.
