HubSpot consultant in Wollongong and CRM expert for the Illawarra
I'm a HubSpot consultant based in Wollongong, and HubSpot and CRM is the work I'm best at. I design portals around how you actually sell, move you off spreadsheets or an old CRM without losing history, connect HubSpot to your ERP, phones and quoting, and write code when the standard features run out. You get a HubSpot expert and CRM consultant in one person, and a CRM your team actually uses.
You're paying for HubSpot. You're using about a third of it.
HubSpot is a great platform. It's also very easy to set up badly. A rushed onboarding, a few well-meaning admins and two years later the portal is a junk drawer.
The symptoms are always the same. Sales doesn't trust the pipeline, so they keep their own spreadsheet. Quotes get built outside HubSpot, so deal amounts are guesses. Marketing can't prove which campaigns produce revenue. The owner asks a simple question, like "how many quotes did we send last month and how many did we win?", and nobody can answer it without a day of exporting.
- Hundreds of custom properties, half of them duplicates, most of them empty.
- Deal stages that mean different things to different reps.
- Quotes built in Word or Excel, with prices copied from an old export of the ERP.
- Workflows built by someone who left, firing emails nobody can explain.
- Calls, service requests and event sign-ups living outside the CRM.
- Dashboards that look impressive and answer none of your real questions.
- A licence bill that keeps rising while adoption keeps falling.
HubSpot implementation, migration and custom builds
From a first-time setup to a portal that needs serious surgery. I work across Sales Hub, Service Hub, Marketing Hub and the HubSpot CMS, and I write code against the HubSpot API when configuration isn't enough.
HubSpot implementation
Properties, pipelines, lifecycle stages, permissions, teams and naming rules designed around how you actually sell. Built once, built right.
From $9,500
HubSpot migration
Off Insightly, Mailchimp, spreadsheets or an old Access database. Data mapped, cleaned, deduplicated and imported with associations and history intact. How I migrate.
From $7,500
Integrations and the HubSpot API
Your ERP's products and pricing, Aircall calls, PandaDoc quotes and contracts, Asana projects and website forms connected to HubSpot. API work on contacts, deals and products when no connector exists. See integrations.
From $7,500
Sales Hub quotes and line items
Deals, pipelines, products and quotes set up so reps build a quote in minutes. Quote-to-line-item workflows keep products, prices and deal amounts in step, so the pipeline value is real.
Service Hub tickets and SLAs
Ticket pipelines, routing, service workflows and SLA rules. Customers stop falling through the gap between sales and delivery, and you can see the oldest open request at a glance.
Marketing Hub and Marketing Events
Segmentation, lists, email, lead scoring and campaign reporting. Marketing Events data for webinars, expos and training days, with registrations and attendance on the contact record.
Custom objects and associations
When contacts, companies and deals can't describe your business, custom objects and association labels can. Projects, sites, installations, whatever you actually track. Custom objects need an Enterprise tier, and I'll tell you if that's worth it.
Workflows and reporting
Lead routing, lifecycle rules, task creation, renewal reminders and workflows with custom logic. Dashboards that answer the questions your leadership team asks every Monday. Named and documented so the next admin isn't lost.
HubSpot CMS
Content Hub websites and landing pages with a sensible content architecture and modules your marketers can use without breaking the layout. Forms land straight in the CRM.

How a HubSpot project runs
Discover
I sit with sales, marketing and service to see how work really moves. Not the org chart version. The sticky-note-on-the-monitor version.
Design
You sign off a one-page design: objects, pipelines, stages, key properties, automation and reports. Cheap to change on paper, expensive to change later.
Build and migrate
I configure the portal, migrate and clean your data, build workflows, integrations and custom pieces, then test with your real records.
Train and hand over
Role-based training, a written admin guide and 30 days of support. Your team owns the portal from day one.
Where a HubSpot consultant earns their fee
Typical scenarios I see in Illawarra and NSW businesses. Not client stories, and the numbers are illustrative.
The shadow spreadsheet
Four reps each keep a personal spreadsheet because HubSpot "doesn't fit how we sell". Each spends 3 hours a week updating both. That's 12 hours a week, about 620 hours a year, spent typing the same thing twice. A pipeline redesign that matches the real sales process usually kills the spreadsheet in a month.
Quotes that don't match the deal
Reps build quotes in Excel from a price list exported from the ERP last quarter, then type a total into HubSpot. Old prices go out and the pipeline value is fiction. With products and pricing synced from the ERP, reps quote from the deal, line items set the amount, and a won deal can go back to the ERP as an order.
Calls nobody logged
A sales team makes 40 calls a day between them and logs maybe half. With Aircall connected properly, every call, recording and outcome lands on the right contact and deal automatically, and a missed call from a customer creates a task instead of a guilty conscience.
Service requests in a shared inbox
Warranty and service requests arrive by email and phone, and nobody knows how long the oldest one has waited. A Service Hub ticket pipeline with SLA rules and an overdue view makes the backlog visible, and the account manager sees open tickets before they call the customer.
The data nobody can see
Account managers need contract value, renewal date and open job status while on the phone. Today that means opening three systems. A HubSpot custom app with a CRM card shows it on the company record, pulled live from the system that owns it.
The marketing attribution argument
Marketing says campaigns are working. Sales says the leads are rubbish. Neither can prove it. Cleaned lifecycle stages, consistent source tracking and one revenue-by-source dashboard end the argument with numbers.
A CRM consultant who also runs the marketing
A lot of HubSpot help is purely technical. Ticks the boxes, sets up the fields, leaves. I come at it as a marketing and systems consultant, so I design the portal around revenue: how leads arrive, how they get qualified, how quotes go out, how deals close and how delivery and service start.
I've designed, migrated and administered HubSpot at enterprise level, inside a multi-brand manufacturing group with an ERP, a big product catalogue, quotes with long line-item lists, service tickets and events. That's where you learn which shortcuts come back to bite.
I also write code. HubSpot API work on contacts, deals and products, webhooks, custom objects and custom apps, so you're not juggling a consultant and a separate developer who blame each other.
I'm in Wollongong and happy to work in your office for the discovery and training days. Serving Wollongong · Shellharbour · Kiama · Nowra and the Shoalhaven · Southern Highlands, and remote clients across NSW and Australia.
Good fit
- Teams moving onto HubSpot for the first time
- Businesses whose existing portal has become a mess
- Companies that need HubSpot to talk to an ERP, Aircall, PandaDoc, Asana, WordPress or a database
- Product businesses with real quoting, line items and price lists
- Owners who want reports they can trust without exporting to Excel
Not a fit
- You want the cheapest possible setup, done in a weekend
- You're committed to a different CRM. I work in HubSpot.
- Nobody internal will own the CRM after launch
HubSpot consultant FAQs
How much does a HubSpot consultant cost in Wollongong?
My HubSpot health check is $1,950 fixed. Migrations and integrations start from $7,500, full implementations from $9,500 and custom apps from $15,000. Ongoing admin is $2,800 a month for 8 hours, and ad hoc advice is $350 an hour. Every project gets a fixed quote after a scoping call, so you know the number before you commit.
Are you a HubSpot partner?
No. I'm an independent HubSpot consultant, not a HubSpot Solutions Partner, and I'm not endorsed by or affiliated with HubSpot, Inc. I work inside your portal on your behalf, and you pay for your licences direct to HubSpot. So my advice on tiers and seats is about what you need, not what I sell.
Will I need to upgrade my HubSpot licence?
Not necessarily. Plenty of portals are on a higher tier than they need, and some are missing one feature that would save hours. I review what you actually use against what you pay for, and I'll tell you which HubSpot tier you actually need, including when a cheaper one will do. Licences are always paid to HubSpot directly, never through me.
Should I talk to you or to HubSpot's sales team first?
Both are fine, but they do different jobs. HubSpot's sales team know their product range well and their job is to sell it. My job is to make it work in your business. Bring me any quote or proposal you've been given and I'll tell you which hubs, tier and seats you need now, which can wait, and when a cheaper option will do the job.
What's included in a HubSpot health check?
A review of your data quality, properties, pipelines, lifecycle stages, workflows, reporting, user permissions, integrations and licence fit. You get a written report with a ranked fix list and a 60-minute walkthrough, and the fee is credited if you go ahead with fix work within 30 days. Details on the HubSpot health check page.
Can you migrate us from Insightly, Mailchimp or spreadsheets?
Yes. I've moved data out of Insightly and Mailchimp, plus spreadsheets and legacy Access databases. I map your old fields to a clean HubSpot structure, clean and deduplicate on the way in, keep associations between contacts, companies and deals, and bring notes and history across where the source allows. A test import comes first so nothing surprises you on go-live day. More on HubSpot migration.
Can HubSpot connect to our ERP, phones and quoting?
Usually, yes. Typical jobs are ERP products and pricing synced into HubSpot so quotes use current prices, Aircall calls logged against the right record, PandaDoc quotes and contracts generated from deal data, website forms landing with their source, and won deals creating Asana projects. Off-the-shelf connectors where they're good enough, the HubSpot API and webhooks where they aren't. See HubSpot integrations.
What are HubSpot custom apps and do I need one?
Custom apps let HubSpot do things it can't out of the box, like a card on a company record showing live data from another system, or logic HubSpot's workflows can't express. You need one when your team keeps leaving HubSpot to find information or finish a task. Most businesses don't need one on day one, and I'll say so.
How long does a HubSpot implementation take?
A typical implementation for a small to mid-sized team takes 4 to 8 weeks from discovery to training. A migration alone is often 2 to 4 weeks. Integrations and custom apps depend on scope. The biggest variable is how quickly your team can make decisions on pipeline design.
Do you offer ongoing HubSpot support?
Yes. The HubSpot admin retainer is $2,800 a month for 8 hours, with extra hours at $350. It covers users and permissions, property and pipeline changes, workflows, reports, data hygiene, training new staff and a monthly health report. Three-month minimum, then month to month.
Do you only work with Wollongong businesses?
No. I'm based in Wollongong and work on site across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands. Most HubSpot work happens inside the portal, so it runs just as well remotely for businesses in Sydney, the rest of NSW and across Australia.
